New Year Greetings

Happy new year.
The 2017 White Paper on Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and on Micro Enterprises point out that business confidence among those enterprises shows a gradual improvement trend, but structural problems such as aging management and lack of human resources are ongoing. In response to such issues, we, our institute would like to make the direction of support more specific and tackle such problems.
Looking back on our institute in the last year, the three business departments of Corporate Member Support, Environmental Solutions and International Business Support performed well, developing various kinds of support not only for member companies but also for several industrial associations. I would like to inform with thanks that our financial base is now becoming steady. The three sections of New Public Commons Support, Industry-Government-Academia Collaboration Support and Public Affairs also expanded the range of activities to holding seminars on earthquake and disaster prevention, information security, EXCEL lecture on questions which people hesitate to ask at the present, etc. As a result, in this fiscal year, three people newly joined us as the individual member. Again, I would like to thank you for your support.
The year of the Dog
In the end of last year, improper quality control practices were discovered in some major companies, shaking the spirit and system of manufacturing that Japan has developed. Our ambition for this year is to start supporting quality control, by taking the opportunity that we currently support material safety data collection for export.
In 2019 (Heisei 31) the emperor is to abdicate and era name is to be changed, which is considered to be followed by reviewing IT and book keeping. We will look into any need for the situation and seek possibility that we will be able to support.

As a new activity of the New Public Commons Support, we will make efforts to spread “ecology” education, which has a proven record of activities, to many regions and schools in the network of our members and others.
There is a problem that donation to us has been small and this will be related to the requirement for an approved NPO which we were recertified last fiscal year. This is a major task in the future which we need to tackle. Also, since we are a senior group, countermeasures to aging members are an urgent issue, and we think that recruiting younger members is important in order to continue longer healthy activities.
We will celebrate the 15th anniversary of NPO establishment in 2019. We have a meaningful event to commemorate the revitalization and development of the local community in mind.
Finally, as an Certified NPO organization and as a senior group with vitality and action, as well, we will meet needs of the local community, proceed with lively activities, seek further growth. Internally we will organize attractive events, enhancing fellowship among our members.
We will greatly appreciate your continued support and encouragement.
